Dak Lak mother's daily visits to son's barbershop go viral

A video featuring 78-year-old Nguyen Thi Thin cycling to her son's modest barbershop in Dak Lak province has garnered 1.9 million views on social media. The footage shows Mrs. Thin riding her old bicycle to the small shop located amidst fields to visit her son, Nguyen Huu Chien.

Mr. Chien, 50, has lived with a physical disability since birth due to the effects of Agent Orange, which limits his ability to perform heavy labor. He has operated the small, 10-square-meter barbershop for 20 years. To support him and ensure he does not feel lonely during quiet hours, Mrs. Thin visits every afternoon to chat with customers and help clean the shop by sweeping hair and tidying up.

Mr. Chien lives with his elderly parents and remains unmarried. His barbershop offers services ranging from 15,000 to 30,000 VND depending on the customer's age.
