Dak Lak official faces discipline after parking dispute in Buon Ma Thuot

A video circulating on social media has sparked public outrage following a confrontation between a driver and a spa owner in Buon Ma Thuot, Dak Lak province. The incident occurred on September 19 on Tran Van Phu Street, where a man parked his car in front of a spa and engaged in a heated argument with the shop owner.

The man, identified as a specialist from the Infrastructure Development Division of the Dak Lak Department of Construction, reportedly threatened to “close the shop” after being reminded about his parking. In response to the backlash, leadership at the Department of Construction stated they would discipline and remind the official regarding his speech and conduct.

The event has reignited a broader debate regarding urban management and the perceived ownership of public spaces. Many residents and business owners along main roads often treat sidewalks and street sections in front of their properties as private territory, leading to frequent conflicts over vehicle parking and public access.
