Đắk Lắk teacher arrested for murdering female colleague

Police in Đắk Lắk province have arrested Nguyễn Hồng Lĩnh, a 38-year-old physical education teacher at Lê Đình Chinh Primary School, for the murder of a female colleague.

The victim, 39-year-old library staff member L. T. M. D., was reported missing following a school gathering on August 10, 2026. Investigations revealed that Lĩnh and the victim had been in a romantic relationship since early 2025. During a confrontation at the victim's residence that evening, Lĩnh used violence, resulting in her death.

To conceal the crime, Lĩnh burned the victim's clothing and bedding to destroy evidence. He then transported her body to a coffee plantation in Ea Drăng commune, approximately 20km away, where he buried her. The body was subsequently discovered by authorities.
