Dak Lak police rescue woman swept away by floodwaters
A woman was rescued from a rushing stream in Dak Lak province after being swept away by floodwaters while attempting to cross a flooded bridge on the evening of September 9.
Do Thi Thanh Thanh, a resident of Phu Xuan commune, was traveling by motorcycle to Ea Kar to collect fruit for sale when she encountered strong currents at a flooded bridge. The force of the water swept both her and her motorcycle into the stream. The motorcycle contained over 20 million VND and other personal assets.
Local police officers and security personnel on duty in the area witnessed the incident and immediately entered the water to rescue her. The responders also successfully recovered her motorcycle and belongings. Following the rescue, Ms. Thanh sent a letter of gratitude to the Dak Lak Provincial Police, local authorities, and the Phu Xuan Commune Police for their timely intervention.
