Dak Lak Police warn businesses of tax evasion risks
The Dak Lak Provincial Police have issued a warning to businesses, household businesses, and individuals regarding revenue management and tax obligations. Authorities emphasized that failure to accurately record income, declare revenue, or use proper invoicing can lead to administrative penalties or criminal prosecution.
In a specific case, the Economic Police Department of Dak Lak Province initiated criminal proceedings against a household business owner, M. T. H., in Krong A commune. The individual is accused of tax evasion involving approximately 2.1 billion VND in 2022. The business operated by purchasing acacia, rubber, and miscellaneous wood to resell to enterprises for a profit margin without proper processing.
Police advise businesses, particularly those dealing in high-value agricultural or forest products, to maintain rigorous records of all transactions, cash flows, and invoices. They warned against practices such as failing to issue invoices, recording values lower than actual payments, or using illegal documents to reduce tax liabilities.
