Dak Lak Province Approves Mineral Zones for Bai Goc Port and Hoa Tam Industrial Zone

The People's Committee of Dak Lắk province has designated four areas of stone and sand as non‑auction zones to supply building materials for the construction of Bai Gốc Port and the Hoa Tâm industrial zone. The decision, signed by Vice Chairman Nguyễn Thiên Văn, assigns the local agriculture and environment department to process extraction permits, while the communes of Hòa Xuân and Sơn Thành will manage and protect the resources. The industrial‑zone project, led by the Hoà Phát Group, will cover about 492 ha, involve an investment of roughly VND 4,188 billion and create more than 24 000 jobs.

In a related move, the Ministry of Construction has revised the national road‑network plan, allowing Dak Lắk to accelerate two strategic highways before 2030. The north‑south western corridor (Ngọc Hồi‑Pleiku‑Buôn Ma Thuột‑Gia Nghĩa) spans about 265 km with an estimated VND 70 000 billion investment, while the Phú Yên‑Dak Lắk line (including the Bai Gốc‑Buôn Hồ segment) could start construction in 2027. These routes will link the province more directly with the Central Highlands and the South‑Central coastal region, enhancing transport of goods and people.
