Dak Lak reviews 200 landslide and flood risk locations

Authorities in Dak Lak are reviewing approximately 200 locations at risk of landslides and flooding along national and provincial highways to prepare for heavy rain and storms. Road management units are focusing on vulnerable and frequently damaged sections to ensure continuous traffic flow.

To mitigate damage, Dak Lak is investing nearly 400 billion VND into 33 transport infrastructure projects, primarily targeting road surfaces and drainage systems damaged by previous floods. Five projects are already complete, with the remaining works expected to finish by September.

The provincial People's Committee has instructed local authorities to urgently monitor areas prone to deep flooding, flash floods, and landslides, particularly near rivers, streams, and steep slopes. Emergency protocols include the proactive relocation of residents from high-risk zones and the deployment of forces to control movement through flooded areas or dangerous crossings.
