Đắk Lắk authorities respond to student knife attack
Authorities in Đắk Lắk are calling for cautious reporting following a violent incident involving students. On October 7, an 11th-grade student from Trần Quang Khải High School allegedly attacked a 9th-grade student from Nguyễn Đức Cảnh School with a knife during a confrontation in Ea Tul commune.
The victim sustained multiple injuries to her face, hands, and legs and was rushed to Thiện Hạnh General Hospital for emergency surgery. Doctors report that while her condition is currently stable and she is conscious, she remains under intensive monitoring.
The Đắk Lắk Department of Education and Training has directed schools to coordinate with families and police to clarify the matter. Officials emphasized a zero-tolerance policy toward school violence and urged educational institutions to strengthen prevention measures and psychological support for affected students. Local leaders have also requested that media coverage remain objective, avoiding the disclosure of student identities to protect the privacy and mental well-being of those involved.
