Dak Lak warns of flash floods and landslides following heavy rain

Dak Lak province has issued warnings regarding the increased risk of flash floods and landslides due to prolonged heavy rainfall. Local meteorological authorities forecast cumulative rainfall between 10mm and 40mm, with some areas exceeding 40mm. High-risk zones include areas along the Krong Ana, Krong Nang, and Krong Pach rivers, as well as steep terrains and low-lying regions.

The provincial People's Committee has directed local departments and authorities to enhance disaster prevention and response measures. This includes reviewing vulnerable areas, preparing evacuation plans for residents in danger zones, and monitoring critical infrastructure such as bridges and roads.

In areas like Hoa Thinh commune, heavy rains have already caused rice crops to flood and collapse. Local military, police, and militia forces have been mobilized to assist farmers with manual harvesting to minimize economic losses caused by the weather conditions.
