Dak Prescott breaks Cowboys touchdown record in win over Washington

The Dallas Cowboys secured their first victory of the season with a 37-20 win over the Washington Commanders. Quarterback Dak Prescott set a new franchise record by throwing his 249th career touchdown pass, surpassing Tony Romo for the most passing touchdowns in Cowboys history.

Despite the win, the Cowboys faced defensive setbacks as head coach Brian Schottenheimer confirmed that cornerback Cobie Durant and safety P. J. Locke would be sidelined for several weeks due to hamstring and foot injuries, respectively.

Wide receiver George Pickens has faced scrutiny regarding a slow start to the season, recording 68 receiving yards through two games while playing under a franchise tag. However, Prescott noted that defenses are heavily targeting Pickens, which has created favorable matchups for teammate CeeDee Lamb. Pickens expressed satisfaction with his performance, stating he is focused on the team's success and his overall contribution to the game.
