Dakahlia Governor conducts surprise inspections of Mansoura food market and Aja Central Hospital

Governor Tarek Marzouk of Egypt’s Dakahlia governorate carried out a series of unannounced field visits on Wednesday. He first inspected the permanent food market on Canal Street in the East Mansoura district, checking the availability and quality of essential items such as vegetables, fruit, meat and eggs, and urging vendors to honor posted prices. The governor also ordered stricter enforcement of the subsidised bread distribution, limiting purchases to one card per citizen and demanding legal action against violations. He called for increased cleaning around the market and better traffic management.

Following the market tour, Marzouk visited Aja Central Hospital, accompanied by Field Follow‑up Director Wael Sharbini. He examined the emergency department, stroke unit, blood bank, kitchen and other wards, praising staff punctuality and uniform compliance. The governor stressed the need to maintain hospital cleanliness, ensure continuous medical care, and respond promptly to patient needs.
