Dakar Driver Arrested for Child Sexual Abuse in Parcelles Assainies

Police in Dakar’s Parcelles Assainies district detained a 24‑year‑old driver, identified as Omar Ndiaye, on allegations of pedophilia and sexual assault of an eight‑year‑old girl. The incident was reported on 27 July after the girl’s father was alerted by neighbours that his daughter had been assaulted.

Investigators said the victim identified Ndiaye, who was later taken to the Unité 15 police station. During questioning he admitted the acts and asked for the father’s forgiveness. The girl also disclosed that the suspect had assaulted another friend. Ndiaye has been transferred to the public prosecutor for charges of “pedophilia and sexual assault on a minor”.
