Dakota Fanning reflects on her role in the Twilight franchise

Actress Dakota Fanning recently reflected on her experience working within the ‘Twilight’ film franchise during an appearance on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast. Fanning, who portrayed the Volturi vampire Jane across three films, noted that her supporting role allowed her to experience the massive cultural phenomenon without the intense pressure faced by the franchise's primary leads.

Fanning recalled that while the fandom was ‘super intense’ and her high school peers were obsessed with the series, her recurring but limited screen time provided a ‘fun experience’ that she described as ‘ideal.’ She also mentioned that the main stars, including Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, did not initially realize the scale of the movies' eventual global success. Additionally, Fanning noted that her time on the franchise led to a lasting friendship with Stewart.
