Dalí Triangle museums to reach hospital patients via virtual reality
The Fundació Salut Empordà and the Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí have signed a collaboration agreement to launch the ‘Ulleres Viatgeres’ (Traveling Glasses) project. This initiative uses virtual reality technology to allow patients at the Hospital de Figueres and the Bernat Jaume Intermediate Care Hospital to virtually visit the three sites of the Dalí Triangle.
Patients in the Dialysis Unit and the Oncology and Medical Day Hospital will be able to experience immersive tours of the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, the House of Salvador Dalí in Portlligat, and the Gala Dalí Castle in Púbol. The project, originally proposed by the association Més que Ciència, aims to provide cultural access to individuals with limited mobility or health issues.
As part of the Dalí Foundation's Corporate Social Responsibility Program, the agreement includes the provision of technological devices for one month each quarter. Healthcare professionals noted that these immersive experiences can serve as a therapeutic tool to humanize hospital environments and improve the emotional well-being of patients during treatment.
