Dale Alice Martin death lawsuit alleges medical malpractice

A lawsuit is progressing regarding the death of 21-year-old Dale Alice Martin, whose family alleges medical malpractice. Martin originally sought treatment for a broken ankle sustained while working on a farm in Texas.

According to legal filings, Martin was transported to a hospital facing severe financial difficulties. The lawsuit claims that medical staff administered a lethal dose of pain medication within 14 hours of her admission, causing her to stop breathing. An autopsy revealed she died of cardiac arrest. The family alleges that staff failed to check on her until it was too late, noting she was not checked by a nurse until 7:00 AM, long after the overdose occurred.
