Dale Smith Jr. arrested for murder of ex-fiancée Michelle Parker

Orlando police have arrested Dale Smith Jr., 55, for the second-degree murder of his ex-fiancée, Michelle Parker, nearly 15 years after she vanished. Parker, a mother of three, disappeared in November 2011 shortly after an episode of the reality show ‘The People’s Court’ aired, in which the couple disputed the loss of an engagement ring.

Investigators stated that while Parker’s remains have not been located, advancements in digital forensics allowed them to reexamine evidence from electronic devices, vehicles, and computers to link Smith to the crime. Smith, who was a prime suspect since the initial disappearance, pleaded not guilty during his first court appearance and is currently being held without bond.

Parker was last seen dropping her twins off at Smith’s home in 2011. Her vehicle was found abandoned the following day, and her cell phone was later recovered from a lake. Parker’s mother, Yvonne Stewart, expressed relief at the arrest, stating, ‘I was hopeful this day would come.’
