Dalija Orešković disputes Croatian Parliament question procedures

Dalija Orešković has challenged the Secretariat of the Croatian Parliament, alleging that its decision to use a draw to determine which MPs could pose questions to Prime Minister Andrej Plenković during the 'Aktualno prijepodne' session was an abuse of authority.

Orešković argues that the Secretariat exceeded its mandate by deciding who has the right to ask a question rather than merely determining the order of speakers. She contends that according to Article 132 of the Parliament's Rules of Procedure, rights for parliamentary questions should be distributed among parliamentary clubs, with specific rights reserved for independent MPs, minority representatives, and smaller parties. She claims the ruling HDZ party is improperly grouping these distinct categories into a single shared right.

In further criticism, Orešković compared Prime Minister Plenković’s political approach to that of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, accusing the current administration of undermining Croatian interests and ignoring environmental concerns, such as illegal landfills and chemical pollutants.
