Dallas Cowboys historical review highlights iconic games and players

The Dallas Cowboys are conducting a 100-day countdown to the 2026 kickoff by reviewing the franchise's most iconic games and players.

One highlighted moment is ‘The Wreath Game’ from December 16, 1979, where Roger Staubach led a comeback against the Washington Redskins. Trailing by 13 points with less than four minutes remaining, the Cowboys eventually secured a 35-34 victory to claim the division.

In a review of players wearing jersey number 51, Ken Norton Jr. was selected as the top player for the position. Norton was a defensive leader during the team's first two Super Bowl victories in the 1990s. The review also noted his father, heavyweight boxer Ken Norton, who famously broke Muhammad Ali's jaw during their 1973 bout.
