Dallas Cowboys leadership backs Brian Schottenheimer

Dallas Cowboys COO Stephen Jones has expressed continued confidence in play-calling head coach Brian Schottenheimer despite a difficult 2-4 start to the 2026 season. The support comes following a 23-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers, which marked the team's second consecutive offensive struggle.

Jones stated that both he and owner Jerry Jones believe Schottenheimer “has the team” and that there is no question regarding the players' desire to execute. While the offense has struggled to score, averaging 25.2 points per game compared to a No. 2 ranking in 2025, Jones emphasized that the coaching staff must continue to evolve to secure wins.

The Cowboys' recent performances include scoring only 13 points against Green Bay and 16 points against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite the disappointing results, leadership indicated they remain satisfied with the current coaching staff and players.
