Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says he could sell a minority stake to Mark Cuban

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, 83, said he would consider selling a minority share of the franchise to fellow billionaire Mark Cuban. Jones told the Dallas Morning News that while the team is not actively seeking new investors, Cuban’s track record – turning the Dallas Mavericks into a premier NBA franchise and recently acquiring a stake in the MLB Athletics – makes him a potential partner.

Jones emphasized his respect for Cuban’s basketball achievements and business acumen, noting that “if you’re me, you would be open to that because of the man.” The NFL has recently approved private‑equity minority ownership for its 32 clubs, but the Cowboys have not yet taken advantage of the rule. The Jones family continues to run the organization, with his children holding key executive roles.
