Dallas Cowboys roster moves boost team confidence

The Dallas Cowboys are entering the new season with increased confidence following significant roster moves. Quarterback Dak Prescott credited owner Jerry Jones, Stephen Jones, and head coach Brian Schottenheimer for demonstrating a level of urgency in team building that he has not seen during his tenure. This urgency is highlighted by the early acquisition of defensive cornerstone Quinnen Williams and the retention of all 11 offensive starters, including an extension for running back Javonte Williams and the use of the franchise tag on George Pickens.

On the defensive side, the team is integrating at least six new starters to address previous weaknesses. Within the preseason, there is a focus on the development of rookies such as Malachi Lawrence. Following the addition of Von Miller to the pass rush rotation, Lawrence's performance in practice and preseason games is seen as critical for determining the team's depth chart decisions at the edge rusher position.
