Dallas Cowboys Waive Edge Rusher Charles Snowden After Suspension
The Dallas Cowboys placed outside linebacker Charles Snowden on waivers with an injury designation after he received a three‑game suspension for violating the NFL personal‑conduct policy. Snowden, a 6‑foot‑6, 250‑pound former Las Vegas Raiders starter, had signed a one‑year, $1.075 million contract on June 18 following a minicamp tryout, but a groin injury and the suspension led the team to release him as the roster was trimmed to 53 players. In the same move, the Cowboys signed offensive lineman Sebastian Gutierrez to a one‑year deal. Snowden, who was arrested for a DUI in Las Vegas in December 2024 and pleaded no contest in January 2026, had posted 4.5 sacks and 67 tackles over his last two seasons with the Raiders. The waiver clears a path for younger edge prospects such as Sam Williams to compete for roster spots as Dallas seeks to improve a defense that ranked last in the league last season.
