Dallas Man Identified After Being Shot and Burned in Oklahoma Field

A Dallas man reported missing on July 29 was discovered on July 30 in a field near Highway 32 in Love County, Oklahoma, after a grass fire was reported. Deputies found a charred male body; investigators identified the victim as "Chris" through tattoo records and linked him to a Dallas missing‑persons case.

An autopsy by the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed four gunshot wounds to the chest and ruled the death a homicide. Authorities say the victim was likely shot in Texas, his body moved across state lines, and then set on fire in Oklahoma. The Dallas Police Department’s Homicide Unit and the Love County Sheriff’s Office are conducting a joint investigation and have asked the public for information.
