Dallas Police Sergeant involved in shooting during domestic violence call
Dallas Police responded to a 911 call regarding a family violence disturbance at an apartment complex in the 8500 block of Park Lane on the morning of Friday, August 7, 2026. Officers arrived to find 37-year-old Isidoro Melo-Munoz armed with knives and assaulting a woman with whom he had been in a dating relationship.
Sergeant John Arnold observed Melo-Munoz stabbing the victim multiple times after the suspect failed to comply with verbal commands. As Melo-Munoz fled the scene with a knife, Sergeant Arnold fired one round toward the suspect. The victim was transported by Dallas Fire-Rescue to a local hospital, where she underwent surgery and was listed in stable condition.
Investigators recovered three knives at the scene. Dallas Police have deployed Drone and Fugitive Units to locate Melo-Munoz, who is facing an arrest warrant for Aggravated Assault – Family Violence with a Deadly Weapon.
