Dallas Prepares Broadcast Centre and Emergency Hub for FIFA World Cup 2026

The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas will host the FIFA World Cup 2026 International Broadcast Centre (IBC). Covering 45,000 m², the IBC will accommodate about 180 broadcasters and 2,000 media representatives, providing state‑of‑the‑art facilities such as a VAR room, a Football Data Platform that merges live match data with video, and spaces for FIFA’s Media Partners and technical departments.

Separately, the newly built Dallas County Emergency Operations Center, a $26.2 million, 39,000‑sq‑ft facility designed by KAI, will serve as the Joint Operations Center for the tournament. It brings together roughly 200 federal, state and local public‑safety officials to coordinate emergency response across North Texas. Built to operate continuously for five days and to withstand extreme weather, the centre includes hardened infrastructure, redundant telecommunications and dedicated spaces for coordination, training and staff wellbeing.
