Dallas Road updates include new emergency signs and weekend closures

The City of Victoria has installed new numbered signs at beach entrances along Dallas Road to improve emergency response times. These signs allow individuals to provide specific location IDs to 911 dispatchers, helping first responders find callers more quickly. The initiative also aims to reduce sign clutter by consolidating location information with hazard and regulation notices.

Separately, the Victoria Police Department has issued a traffic advisory for the weekend of August 22nd and 23rd. Dallas Road will experience closures between Cook Street and Memorial Crescent, as well as the Clover Point loop, to accommodate the Triathlon Canada Super Sprint and Relay National Championships. Traffic detours are expected to be in place daily from approximately 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
