Las Vegas Aces beat Golden State Valkyries 91-81
The Las Vegas Aces ended a two‑game skid with a 91‑81 victory over the Golden State Valkyries at the Chase Center on Sunday. A'ja Wilson led the Aces with 28 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks, while Jackie Young contributed 23 points and nine assists. NaLyssa Smith added 15 points and nine rebounds as the Aces improved to 5‑3 on the season.
For the Valkyries, Gabby Williams topped the scoreboard with 20 points, and Janelle Salaun and Kayla Thornton added 16 and 12 points respectively. The team struggled on the glass, being out‑rebounded 45‑33, and shot only 23 % inside the arc. Coach Natalie Nakase lamented the lack of execution on the game plan, especially on defending Wilson's interior dominance.
The loss dropped the Valkyries to 5‑3, setting up a home game against the Portland Fire next. The Aces, now 5‑3, will travel to Los Angeles for their next contest.
