Dalmatian cultural heritage highlighted through traditions and folklore

Cultural heritage and traditions in the Dalmatian region and surrounding areas are being highlighted through various media and international folklore gatherings. In Dalmatia, historical figures such as Saints Cosmas and Damian, Saint Jerome, and Saint Michael remain central to local customs and religious identity.

Traditional jewelry also plays a significant role in preserving regional identity. Items such as the 'botun'—a metal ornament used in both men’s and women’s folk costumes—and 'grotulje' (walnut necklaces used in Trilj) serve as symbols of social status and historical belonging.

Additionally, the KUD sv. Ante Nadin cultural society represented the Zadar County at the 'Miholjdanski susreti' international folklore review in Prene, near Stolac. As the first group from Zadar County to participate in this event, they performed traditional songs, dances, and 'ojkavica' singing to showcase the customs of Nadin and the Ravni Kotari region.
