Herning police arrest suspect after violent stabbing

A man is in critical condition following a violent stabbing in central Herning on Thursday evening. The incident occurred near Markedspladsen at Møllegade 1D, prompting a large police presence and the cordoning off of parts of the city center, including Østergade.

Midt- og Vestjyllands Politi confirmed that a suspect was arrested around 11:30 PM. While initial reports suggested a fight involving a sharp object, police have been conducting an extensive investigation throughout the night. The victim was urgently transported to the hospital via medical helicopter.

Authorities are currently seeking video footage from surveillance cameras and private recordings in the areas surrounding Markedspladsen, specifically near Gl. Skolevej, Vestergade, Lykkesvej, and Dalgas Allé, to assist with the investigation.
