Daloa company burglary and arson claims 47.5 million CFA, suspect arrested

In the night of 2–3 August 2026, a large company’s branch in Daloa, Côte d’Ivoire, was broken into. A night‑watch guard was fatally injured, the office of the zone manager was set on fire, and approximately 47.5 million CFA was reported stolen.

The Brigade de Recherche et d’Intervention (BRI) of Daloa opened an investigation. Within 48 hours investigators identified a 37‑year‑old Malian security guard, B. M., as the perpetrator. He confessed to the burglary, arson and assault on his colleague. Police recovered more than 38 million CFA of the missing cash from a septic‑tank hide‑out.

The case illustrates a swift police response, the recovery of most of the stolen funds, and the ongoing effort to combat serious crime in the region.
