Dalseong County to implement customized transportation system

Dalseong County in Daegu is advancing plans to establish a customized transportation network designed to improve mobility for vulnerable populations and reduce transit gaps. The initiative includes three primary components: free shuttle buses, Demand Responsive Transport (DRT), and specialized taxis for childcare support.

The free shuttle bus service aims to connect public facilities, such as the county office, welfare centers, and administrative offices, across eight routes using nine 25-seater vehicles. This service is expected to begin pilot operations in June 2027, with full service starting in September 2027.

To address commuting needs in industrial complexes and late-night travel, the county is coordinating with Daegu City to introduce DRT. This service uses 15-seater vehicles that can be summoned via app or phone. If selected for the Daegu City project, operations could begin in the first half of 2027.

Additionally, the ‘Dalseong I-Sarang Taxi’ program will support approximately 4,700 pregnant women and households with children aged 24 months or younger. These taxis will be equipped with child car seats to assist with hospital visits and childcare-related travel, with a target implementation date in the second half of 2027.
