Dalton Rushing undergoes right elbow surgery

Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Dalton Rushing is undergoing a hybrid internal brace procedure on his right elbow. The surgery aims to address a damaged ligament following a partially torn UCL that initially sidelined him in August.

Rushing is expected to be sidelined from catching duties for approximately nine months. While he is anticipated to be ready to contribute as a hitter by the start of the 2027 season, his specific role within the team remains uncertain.

The injury has been a recurring issue for the 25-year-old; after attempting a throwing progression in September, he suffered a setback that ultimately prevented him from joining the postseason roster. He was bypassed in favor of prospect Josue De Paula for the team's October roster.
