Damaged walkways pose safety and structural risks to homes
As the outdoor living market is projected to reach $26.8 billion by 2027, experts warn that damaged walkways pose significant risks to both residents and property integrity.
Research from the National Center for Biotechnology Information indicates that approximately three in four outdoor falls are caused by environmental hazards, such as cracked or broken walkways. Neglecting these repairs can lead to increased injury risks for guests and homeowners, potentially resulting in higher insurance premiums.
Beyond physical safety, cracked walkways can cause structural damage to homes. If a walkway slopes toward a building, it can channel water toward the foundation, leading to soil erosion and threatening the home's structural integrity.
