Dambulla Sixers add Sikandar Raza and Sonal Dinusha ahead of LPL 2026 playoffs
Sri Lankan franchise Dambulla Sixers have strengthened their squad for the final stage of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2026 by signing Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza and local all‑rounder Sonal Dinusha. Raza replaces injured South African batter Marques Ackerman, while Dinusha comes in after Fazalhaq Farooqi departed for national duty with Afghanistan. Raza brings extensive T20 experience, having played 374 matches, scored 7,572 runs at a strike‑rate of 137 and taken 255 wickets. Dinusha, who has played three Tests for Sri Lanka, has a half‑century and 11 wickets in 19 T20 games. Both signings aim to add stability to the Sixers' middle order and provide additional bowling options as the team, sitting around fourth on the points table, strives to avoid a fifth‑place finish and reach the playoffs. LPL tournament director Samantha Dodanwela welcomed the changes, noting that the depth of the replacement pool helps maintain the competition’s high standard.
