Dameisha Beach in China faces extreme overcrowding
Dameisha Beach, located in the Yantian District of Shenzhen, China, has gained international attention for its extreme overcrowding. Spanning only 1.8 kilometers in length, the beach can host approximately 200,000 bathers at a single time, making it one of the most crowded beaches in the world.
During peak periods, such as summer weekends or national holidays like October 1, the area can receive more than 100,000 visitors in a single day. To manage the massive influx of people and prevent total collapse, authorities have implemented a reservation system.
