Damian Litwinowicz knocked out in quarter‑finals at European Rallycross Riga round

Polish driver Damian Litwinowicz finished 16th after a collision in the quarter‑finals of the inaugural European Rallycross Championship round at Biķernieki in Riga. He had posted the sixth‑fastest training time among 30 competitors and qualified within the top ten, but while attempting to overtake Norway's Kjetil Larsen (Volkswagen Polo) both cars left the track, costing Litwinowicz the chance to advance. Larsen was shown a black flag, but the incident ended Litwinowicz’s weekend.

The event featured a strong field, including eight‑time world champion Johan Kristoffersson who won the round, with Ole Christian Veiby second and Joni Turpeinen third. Fellow Poles Filip Melon and Anna Rusek competed in the new RX4 class, finishing fifth and eighth respectively. The next European Rallycross round is scheduled for Nyirád, Hungary, at the end of May.
