Damian Priest and R-Truth to challenge for AAA Tag Team titles in Mexico City

Damian Priest and R-Truth are scheduled to challenge the War Raiders for the AAA Tag Team Championships during the Mexico City edition of WWE SmackDown on September 11.

The challenge was issued by the War Raiders during a recent SmackDown segment. The match comes amid significant tension between Priest and Truth; Priest initially attempted to reject the opportunity, signaling a desire to end their partnership, but ultimately accepted after R-Truth committed to the bout on their behalf. Priest has indicated that this will be the final time the two compete as a team.

The rivalry dates back to July 31, when a title-for-title match between the two teams ended in a no contest due to interference by the MFTs. Following a recent unsuccessful attempt to challenge the MFTs for the WWE Tag Team titles, Priest appeared to nearly betray Truth, though he eventually helped his partner up after the match.
