Damian Przytuła replaces Tomasz Gębala for EHF EURO 2028 qualifiers
Damian Przytuła has been called up to the Polish men's national handball team to replace the injured Tomasz Gębala. The change comes ahead of the November training cycle and the two inaugural qualifying matches for the EHF EURO 2028 against Latvia and Romania.
Tomasz Gębala, who plays for PGE Wybrzeże Gdańsk, reported that a knee injury sustained during a league match has worsened, necessitating a minor procedure to aid recovery. Gębala stated that his priority is to be fully fit for the upcoming World Championships.
National team coach Jota Gonzalez selected Przytuła, who plays for CSM Bukareszt, because he possesses similar characteristics to Gębala and has experience playing alongside the current squad members in both attack and defense.
