Damian Sylwestrzak appointed to FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar

Polish referee Damian Sylwestrzak has been appointed by FIFA to officiate the upcoming U-17 World Cup in Qatar. He will serve as the main referee, supported by fellow Polish officials Adam Karasewicz and Bartosz Heinig as assistant referees.

This appointment is viewed as a significant step in Sylwestrzak’s career. Experts suggest that his performance in youth tournaments serves as a scouting platform for FIFA to select officials for senior competitions. There is speculation that Sylwestrzak could eventually succeed Szymon Marciniak as Poland’s premier international referee, potentially earning a nomination for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
