Damien Thévenot exits Télématin after 27‑year tenure

After 27 years as a main presenter of France Télévisions’ morning show Télématin, Damien Thévenot announced his departure in late June 2025 and aired his final edition on 9 July. During his last broadcast he reflected on his long career and, when asked about dating apps, joked that he was “married to you” and had never used such sites, while keeping his private partner’s identity undisclosed.

France Télévisions named Maya Lauqué to lead the first part of the programme and Agathe Lecaron to take over later. In the interim, Cédric Faiche stepped in as presenter. During his debut on 3 August, chronicle‑writer Julia Martin interrupted him on air, prompting a brief on‑air correction. The show continues to air each morning with the new presenting team.
