Damietta Furniture City inspected by Egyptian Industry Minister
Egypt's Minister of Industry, Khaled Hashem, and the Governor of Damietta, Dr. Hossam El-Din Fawzy, conducted an inspection tour of Damietta Furniture City to review production processes and infrastructure development.
The visit included inspections of five furniture factories and the Furniture Technology Center, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Industry. The officials reviewed the city's executive status, which encompasses workshop areas, showrooms, a 150,000-square-meter free zone, a dry port, and a logistics zone. Plans are also underway to establish a technological school to support the city.
Minister Hashem highlighted Damietta Furniture City as a major national project and the largest specialized industrial zone for furniture and complementary industries in the Middle East. He emphasized the city's role as a gateway for Egyptian furniture to reach international markets, noting the importance of the technology center in transferring modern techniques and conducting quality testing to ensure products meet international standards for export.
