Dammam Airports signs design contract for King Fahd International Airport expansion

Dammam Airports has signed a design contract with WSP Middle East and Asia to develop King Fahd International Airport in accordance with an approved master plan. The agreement was signed by Dammam Airports CEO Mohammed bin Ali Al-Hasani and WSP Middle East and Asia President Din McGrail.

The project aims to expand passenger terminals, improve airport entrances and access roads, and upgrade baggage handling systems, digital services, and indoor guidance systems. By 2030, the master plan targets serving over 19.3 million passengers annually, with a long-term goal of increasing capacity to 32 million passengers per year.

Additional objectives include increasing air cargo capacity to over 600,000 tons annually and enhancing aircraft operational capacity to 77 movements per hour through infrastructure and runway expansions. The development will focus on smart technologies, operational efficiency, and sustainability principles to align with Saudi Vision 2030.
