Dan Alexa reveals near-deals with FCSB as player and coach

Former midfielder and current coach Dan Alexa has disclosed details regarding two separate instances where he nearly joined the Romanian club FCSB.

In 2006, while playing for Beijing Guoan in China, Alexa was offered what he described as the highest salary in the championship by Gigi Becali. Despite Mihai Stoica traveling to China to finalize the deal, Alexa ultimately returned to Dinamo Bucharest following interventions by club officials.

Thirteen years later, Alexa engaged in negotiations with Becali to join the club in a coaching capacity. Although the two met for several hours to discuss the role, an agreement was not reached. Alexa noted that his current professional commitments and loyalty to his supporters at Giulești influenced his decision-making process.
