Dan Hurley signs contract extension with UConn through 2032
The University of Connecticut has announced a two-year contract extension for men’s basketball head coach Dan Hurley, keeping him under contract through the 2031-2032 season. The new agreement maintains his annual salary at approximately $8 million.
Hurley, who is entering his ninth season with the Huskies, has led the program to national championships in 2023 and 2024. Under his leadership, the team has maintained a dominant record, including a 126-28 stretch since the 2022-23 season. UConn Athletic Director David Benedict praised Hurley, stating he has proven to be the best coach in men’s college basketball.
Prior to this extension, Hurley had previously turned down an opportunity to become the head coach of the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers. He currently holds a .769 winning percentage in the NCAA Tournament, which is the second-highest in tournament history.
