Dan Mitsu discusses mental health struggles and hospitalization

Japanese talent Dan Mitsu has shared details regarding her recent struggles with physical and mental health, including periods of hospitalization. During appearances on YouTube channels such as ‘Yamashita Hideko Danshari Official Channel’ and ‘ReHacQ’, the 45-year-old reflected on the stress caused by the loss of close associates and pets several years ago.

Mitsu revealed that during her recovery, she watched videos about prison life to help maintain her sanity, noting that seeing others in more restrictive environments provided a sense of perspective. She also mentioned watching nature videos, such as axolotls hunting, as a way to connect with the cycle of life and find the will to keep going.

While she previously disclosed in blog posts that she spent over 30% of a year undergoing hospitalizations, she has indicated signs of recovery. She noted that while she still undergoes medical treatment, the frequency of needing hospitalization has decreased and she is beginning to feel the mental burden lessening.
