Dan Petrescu praises Daniel Bîrligea following Frosinone debut

Former coach Dan Petrescu watched from the stands at Mapei Stadium to observe Daniel Bîrligea’s debut for Frosinone in Serie A. Petrescu, who mentored the striker during his time at CFR Cluj, expressed pride and emotion regarding Bîrligea’s transition to Italian football.

Petrescu highlighted Bîrligea’s combination of speed and strength as his primary assets in the penalty area. He noted that while the transition to Italy can be difficult, Bîrligea is a serious and talented player who will succeed if given consistent playing time and confidence from his coaching staff. Petrescu also advised that the striker must remain humble and adapt to the defensive demands of the Italian league.

Bîrligea joined Frosinone on loan from FCSB for 1.5 million euros until the end of the season. Frosinone reportedly holds an option to purchase the striker permanently, contingent upon the club avoiding relegation.
