Dan Rather criticizes CBS News leadership and direction

Former CBS anchor Dan Rather has criticized the current state of CBS News, describing the network's recent trajectory as a “disaster.” In comments reported by Variety, Rather attributed the changes to the consolidation of corporate power and political influence, suggesting that Donald Trump’s expressed dislike for ‘60 Minutes’ has influenced the network's direction.

Rather’s remarks come amid ongoing debate regarding the leadership of CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss. While some critics argue Weiss has shifted the network toward a more conservative tone, Rather characterized the situation as a result of billionaire corporate power working in tandem with political interests to gain control over news operations.
