Dan Stevens cast as Alex Murphy in Prime Video's RoboCop series

Dan Stevens has been cast as Alex Murphy in an upcoming eight-episode RoboCop television series for Prime Video. The project, developed by Amazon MGM Studios, follows the core premise of the 1987 film where a fallen police officer's consciousness is implanted into a powerful cyborg to combat crime in Detroit.

Peter Ocko will serve as the showrunner, writer, and executive producer. The production features executive producers James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett through Blumhouse Atomic Monster. Additionally, original film co-writers Ed Neumeier and Michael Miner are attached as executive producers.

Stevens confirmed the role via social media, quoting the iconic line, “Dead or alive, you’re coming with me...” The series aims to explore contemporary themes of technology, identity, and corporate influence, building upon the legacy of the original Paul Verhoeven film.
