Dan Stevens to star in RoboCop TV series for Prime Video

Dan Stevens is set to star as Alex Murphy in a new RoboCop television series being developed for Prime Video. The production is expected to begin filming in the spring of 2027, with the first season consisting of eight episodes.

Stevens has expressed a desire to preserve the core elements of Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 original film, specifically the combination of extreme violence and sharp social satire. He aims to maintain the themes of corporate greed, privatization, and the relationship between humanity and technology that defined the original work.

While production preparations are underway, Stevens noted that he has not yet tried on the RoboCop costume but expects to do so soon. A specific release date has not yet been announced, though the project is currently in active preparation.
