Carlos Mazón to testify again in Spanish Congress DANA investigation

The Spanish Congress's investigation commission into the October 2024 DANA emergency has scheduled several high-profile testimonies. Former President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, is set to testify for a second time on Monday at 11:00 AM. This follows his previous appearance in November, where he faced questioning regarding his response to the flooding and his availability during the crisis.

Other scheduled testimonies include former Interior Minister Salomé Pradas, President of the Valencia Provincial Council Vicent Mompó, and former second-in-command of Emergencies, Emilio Argüeso, who will appear at 3:30 PM. Argüeso is currently among those under judicial investigation regarding the management of the catastrophe, which resulted in 232 deaths.

Three major victim associations—the Associació de Víctimes de la Dana 29 d’octubre 2024, the Asociación de Víctimas Mortales 29-O, and the Asociación de víctimas y damnificados de la Dana de Valencia—have announced protests in Madrid. They plan to demonstrate outside the Congress of Deputies to demand truth, justice, and reparation for the victims and their families.
